Job Summary
This Accounting/Finance Intern position works with the corporate accounting group. The role includes support for a variety of mid-level accounting and finance duties, which include both day-to-day activities and projects. This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end general ledger, close journal entries, and supporting reconciliations
- Research and correct account discrepancies
- Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals
- Provide assistance and support for others on the corporate accounting team upon request
- Prepare reports for management and operations upon request
- Properly execute stipulated controls to ensure compliance with JSOX
Education
Must either be a recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office software programs
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
- Have strong organization and time management skills
- Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of accounting principles
- Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
