Compensation Overview

The hourly salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual hourly rate for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The Legal Services unit of Travelers Bond & Specialty Insurance (“Travelers Bond Legal”) is seeking a current law student for a legal intern position for summer 2026. This internship is based in Hartford, Connecticut, and interns in this program will be paid an hourly rate based on their current year of law school. The legal intern’s primary duties will be to assist Travelers Bond Legal with legal research on a wide variety of topics, with a focus on transactional and regulatory issues.

The position will require 40 hours per week during the summer, with the possibility for part-time work during the 2026-2027 school year if there is mutual interest. The summer internship will begin on June 2, 2026, and run through the middle of August 2026 with some flexibility on the intern’s end date.

Minimum Qualification:

- Must be a current law student with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027 or later.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong legal research skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Strong academic credentials

- Analytical thinking skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
