We provide Modeling and Simulation, design and development, performance testing, and systems engineering in the areas of antennas, antenna systems, and sensors.</p><p></p><p>Period of Work: May-August 2025<br />Full-Time: 40 hours a week<br />Location: Bedford, MA<br />In Office, 5 days per week. </p><p></p><p>This role is targeting students who have completed coursework in: Signal Processing and have a strong interest in Radar and Electromagnetics. Students must continue to be enrolled in full academics the semester following the internship.</p><p></p><p>Job Responsibilities</p><p>As an Electrical or Computer Engineering Intern, you will join a multidisciplinary team to apply your academic knowledge and gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:</p><ul><li>Electronic & Signal Processing: Antennas, electromagnetics, sensors, radar, photonics, and advanced signal processing.</li><li>Communications and Spectrum Operations: Wireless communications, SIGINT, spectrum management, and position, navigation, and timing (PNT).</li><li>Embedded Systems and Security: Electronics design, embedded security, and cryptographic systems.</li><li>Prototyping and Advanced Manufacturing: Rapid hardware prototyping, mechanical design, reliability analysis, and advanced manufacturing techniques.</li><li>Maritime Systems Development: Acoustic and ocean modeling, SONAR system analysis, and transducer design.</li><li>Analyze Winter Study (WS) ionospheric and target data analysis to perform target coordinate registration</li><li>Correlate doppler data from the WS Digisonde ionospheric sounders</li><li>Possible follow on WS work in data visualization and assimilation</li><li>Possibility of assisting with “scientific computing” coding tasks on radar modeling as part of the senior technical team’s Winter Study analysis.</li></ul><p></p><p>Basic Qualifications</p><ul><li>Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.</li><li>Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the internship.</li><li>Foundational knowledge in electrical and/or computer engineering including relevant tools, methodologies, and programming languages.</li><li>Must have sustained excellence in academic performance.</li></ul><p></p><p> Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience having applied electrical or computer engineering concepts in an internship, research, or laboratory setting.</li><li>Proficiency in using electrical and/or computer engineering methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.</li><li>Proven ability to work independently.</li><li>Demonstrated interest in serving the public through previous work experience, volunteer activities, or other relevant engagements.</li><li>Demonstrated interest in radars and ground-based sensing of long-range air threats</li><li>Experience with Python, MATLAB, Physics, Signal Processing and Statistics</li><li>Demonstrated interest in high-frequency (HF) technology</li><li>Demonstrated interest in Ionospheric Physics</li></ul><p></p><p>Clearance: In addition to passing MITRE’s employment background check, you may be submitted for a U.S. Government Security clearance.  This is determined by the Department of Defense’s adjudicative guidelines for receiving a clearance, to include U.S. citizenship.  Other jobs may require vetting for various levels of agency public trust, fitness, suitability, controlled access, and special programs access determination consistent with the work program to which you are assigned.</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):</b></p>Not Applicable<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):</b></p>Not Applicable<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Salary compensation range and midpoint:</b></p>$46,500 - $58,000 - $69,500 Annual<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Work Location Type:</b></p>Hybrid<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
