About The Company
As the world’s largest food and beverage company we are driven by a simple aim: unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come. To deliver on this, we serve with passion, with a spirit of excellence, offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. Our culture is based on our values rooted in respect: respect for ourselves, respect for others, respect for diversity and respect for the future. We can trace our origin back to 1866, when the first European condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. One year later, Henri Nestlé, a trained pharmacist, launched one of the world’s first prepared infant cereals ‘Farine lactée’ in Vevey, Switzerland. Today, we employ around 273,000 people and have factories or operations in almost every country in the world. With our headquarters still based in the Swiss town of Vevey, we had sales of CHF 84.3 billion in 2020. Our portfolio covers almost every food and beverage category – offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. What will you do?

Join our Digital Engineering Placement Scheme at Nestlé and you will begin an exciting 12-month journey, gaining experience and exposure across different categories. Focused on data management and analytics, you’ll have the chance to engage with our state-of-the-art technology, processes, and data systems while playing an active role in initiatives to improve data- driven decision making and operational efficiencies.

We will support you to develop your data engineering knowledge by providing varied experiences across a range of scenarios and projects, allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge to specific data challenges. Collaborating with a team of skilled data engineers and analysts, you will play an important role in supporting the advancement of our digital transformation initiatives, equipping you with the tools and knowledge to have a meaningful impact. You will also work to optimise key performance metrics, including data quality, processing speed, and compliance with data governance standards.

What makes this role exciting?

  • Hands-on experience: The data engineering landscape is constantly evolving, and you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of a breadth of technologies and data processes while learning how the wider business operates.

  • Mentorship opportunities: Work alongside experienced professionals who will provide valuable insights and guidance to help you grow your capabilities in data engineering.

  • Impactful contributions: Lead and contribute to data-centric projects that deliver significant results within required timeframes, gaining exposure to people from a range of teams and backgrounds.

  • Career growth: Your placement could help kickstart your data engineering career, potentially leading you to become a global expert in a specific data technology or specialism, or you could move into the wider analytics space.

  • Networking: Build lasting relationships with colleagues across different sites and functions, opening doors for collaborative opportunities in data projects.

What will you learn?
