Position Overview
At GCS-SIGAL, the role of an Estimating Intern is to support the preconstruction and estimating teams in the successful preparation and bidding of construction projects.

Position Functions
• Creatively solve challenging issues that arise in the estimating process
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Assist in preparing time, cost, and labor estimates by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and RFPs
• Support the preparation of conceptual estimates and budgets for multiple upcoming projects
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and assist in developing scope sheets for purchasing
• Review project documents to identify scope gaps, design omissions, and develop well-written RFIs
• Research and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships to support competitive bidding
• Assist in evaluating bid specifications, drawings, and proposal requirements
• Attend pre-bid meetings and/or site visits as needed
• Collaborate with the marketing team on proposal preparation and RFP responses
• Assist with organizing and maintaining estimating documentation and project records

Experience/Education
• Pursuing a BS or MS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
