About the Role

Position Overview

The Intern (Clean Utilities) works with the Technical Operations Support (TOS) team, specifically within Plant Engineering. The TOS team is responsible for providing all the utilities to the Site, including: Steam, Air, water and electricity.  As part of the TOS team, the Intern learns about system operations, maintenance strategies and engineering design from experienced TOS team members.   

 

Start Date: This internship is set to begin on May 26th 2026 for an 11-week duration ending on August 7th 2026.

 

Relocation: Please note this Internship Opportunity is designed to be 100% Onsite, 40 hours/week and a relocation/housing stipend is not provided.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

 

Under the direct supervision, support and guidance of manager:

• Collaborates with experienced Plant Engineering team members on identified project(s) to improve the operation of many critical systems within the site, which directly impact production). Creates and delivers presentation on identified project to Site Leadership Team at the conclusion of internship.• Communicates and understands the department’s specific needs and requirements for assigned projects• Reviews insulation on instruments within the Site and identifies means and mechanisms to permit easier calibrations on the instruments• Reviews documentation for clean air systems to ensure alignment between installed conditions and design documents as site transitions into cGMP production• Helps to improve the flow of clean water to specific areas of the Site to ensure it meets cGMP requirements• Performs other duties, as assigned

 

Basic Requirements

 

• Currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree program with a Life Sciences focus OR• Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Scientific Undergraduate or Master’s degree Program• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

 

Preferred Requirements

 

• Prior experience in Pharma/Biotech/Chemical Industry• Prior hands-on technical experience (in a laboratory or manufacturing environment)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to discern audible cues
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc 
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time - up to 60 Minutes
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time - up to 240 Minutes
  • Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include writs, hands and/or fingers
  • Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 10 pounds
