Employment Type: Part-time, up to 30 hours per week

Location: Germantown, MD

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Job Overview:

This internship offers hands-on experience in large molecule bioanalysis within a regulated laboratory setting. The Intern – Immunoassay will support bioanalytical workflows and gain foundational knowledge of immunoassay techniques critical to the drug development process. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking practical laboratory experience and professional development in bioanalysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform large molecule bioanalytical assays using various platforms, primarily ELISA and ECL (Electrochemiluminescence – MSD), under supervision
  • Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards in accordance with bioanalytical procedures and SOPs, with appropriate documentation
  • Accurately pipette samples and execute immunoassay procedures following established protocols
  • Utilize data analysis software (e.g., SoftMax Pro, Watson LIMS) to assist with processing assay data, including evaluation of standard curves and QC criteria
  • Understand and comply with all applicable safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and scientists to support ongoing projects
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that are consistent with skill level and training

What We are Looking for:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field
  • Prior laboratory coursework, academic research, or internship experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
  • Willingness to learn and work in a regulated laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Exposure to immunoassay techniques such as ELISA, Western Blot, or enzyme-based assays
  • Familiarity with laboratory data systems (e.g., Watson™ LIMS)
  • Awareness of FDA and ICH bioanalytical method validation guidelines
  • Exposure to LC-MS/MS or other bioanalytical platforms
