Job Location: El Paso , TX 79912

Job Summary: This position will gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of the construction industry, including project management, field operations, engineering, and administration. This internship offers valuable learning opportunities and practical training in a dynamic construction environment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assist project managers, engineers, and construction teams with daily tasks and project activities, such as site inspections, progress tracking, and coordination meetings.
• Support project planning and scheduling efforts, including reviewing project plans, drawings, and specifications, and contributing to project documentation and reports.
• Assist in conducting research, data analysis, and cost estimating for construction projects, and participate in budgeting and cost control activities.
• Assist in reviewing and processing subcontractor bids, change orders, and contract documents, and track subcontractor performance and compliance.
•Participate in safety training sessions, safety inspections, and safety meetings, and promote a culture of safety and awareness on construction sites.
• Assist in coordinating material deliveries, equipment rentals, and logistics for construction projects, and maintain inventory records and documentation.
• Assist in maintaining project records, files, and documentation, including drawings, permits, approvals, and correspondence with stakeholders. • Shadow experienced professionals in various departments, such as project management, engineering, estimating, procurement, and administration, to learn about different roles and responsibilities in the construction industry.
• Participate in networking events, industry seminars, and professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and build relationships in the construction sector.
• Contribute ideas, suggestions, and feedback to improve processes, workflows, and project outcomes, and demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude in the internship role.
• Provide administrative support for project team as requested, such as research, document project meetings, and maintaining records.
• Ensure all on-site compliance with project procedures & compliance, safety program requirements, ethics, work rules and company policies & procedures.
• Regular attendance required according to company policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, clients, subcontractors, and industry professionals.
• Basic knowledge of construction principles, terminology, processes, and industry standards is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with project management software or tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
• Enthusiasm, initiative, and a willingness to take on new challenges, learn new skills, and contribute positively to the internship experience and construction projects.

• Valid driver's license with a clear MVR and access to reliable transportation may be required for site visits or travel to project locations Education and Experience: • Currently enrolled in a degree program in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field. • Strong interest in the construction industry, with a desire to learn and gain hands-on experience in various construction disciplines and operations. Physical Requirements:
• Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.
• Regularly sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on frequent basis.
• Occasionally climb stairs or ladders, etc.
• Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Exposure to outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
• Able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
