Spatial Biology Intern

<h2><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>About the Role</strong></span></h2> <p>Based in our <strong>Pleasanton, CA</strong> headquarters, 10x Genomics is seeking a meticulous researcher to join our team. This role is instrumental in developing the next generation of spatial biology tools. You will work at the intersection of molecular biology and advanced imaging, contributing directly to the workflows that allow researchers to see biology in its full spatial context.</p> <h2><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>What You Will Be Doing</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li>Execute standardized molecular biology protocols and complex tissue-based assays, including H&amp;E staining, Immunostaining, and In Situ Hybridization (ISH).</li> <li>Analyze tissue morphology and structural integrity to evaluate the performance of 10x Genomics assays.</li> <li>Utilize imaging software (e.g., FIJI/ImageJ) to capture and quantify high-resolution spatial data.</li> <li>Perform data analysis and visualization using Excel or R to document experimental results and drive technical decision-making.</li> <li>Coordinate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot protocols and optimize laboratory workflows.</li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Current student or recent graduate pursuing an MS or PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 2+ years laboratory experience.</li> <li><strong>Technical Proficiency:</strong> Demonstrated hands-on experience with tissue handling and staining techniques (H&amp;E, Immunostaining, and/or ISH).</li> <li><strong>Data &amp; Imaging:</strong> Experience using imaging software (e.g., FIJI) and data analysis tools (Excel or R) to interpret biological datasets.</li> <li><strong>Communication:</strong> Ability to present technical data and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.</li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li>Experience with spatial transcriptomics or high-plex imaging platforms.</li> <li>Background in histology and/or pathology with an emphasis on tissue architecture.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Below is the base pay range for this position.&nbsp; The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience.&nbsp; Unless otherwise required by law, this role is not eligible for 10x’s health benefit program.&nbsp; During the hiring process, your 10x recruiter can share more information about the Company’s compensation and benefits.</p></div><div class="title">Pay Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$40</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$48 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>About 10x Genomics</strong></p> <p>At 10x Genomics, accelerating our understanding of biology is more than a mission for us.
