Hybrid (Remote with periodic in-person meetings)

 

Time Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week | Flexible, semester-based | Unpaid internship for academic credit

 

Internship Overview 

Good News Home offers a hands-on internship opportunity for a reliable, goal-oriented student seeking practical experience in public relations, fundraising, and nonprofit operations. The intern will support communications and development initiatives that advance programs serving women and families impacted by addiction and mental illness. 

This internship provides hands-on experience for students preparing for careers in nonprofit leadership, development, or public relations and is structured to meet college credit requirements.  

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist with drafting donor communications and promotional materials 
  • Support digital and social media outreach related to fundraising, marketing, and community engagement initiatives
  • Support donor acquisition and retention efforts 
  • Assist with stakeholder and community engagement strategies 
  • Conduct research on donors, partners, and grant opportunities 
  • Assist with grant research, proposal drafting, and reporting 
  • Support planning and coordination of special fundraising events 
  • Assist with tracking timelines, tasks, and fundraising outcomes

Requirements

Ideal Academic Backgrounds 

Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Project Management, or Macro-Level Social Work (nonprofit administration, policy, advocacy, and community engagement). 


Qualifications 

Reliable, organized, and goal-oriented; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; interest in nonprofit development and community impact work; comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment. 


Location 

Primarily remote with periodic in-person meetings at Good News Home, Flemington, NJ.
