Lactalis Heritage Dairy, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Customer Supply chain Intern based in Chicago, IL.

The Customer Supply Chain Intern is a 10-week hybrid internship based in Chicago, IL. This internship will provide hands-on experience in supply chain operations. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to gain insights into supply chain logistics and contribute to initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. 

Internship Dates: June 1st – August 6th

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Support the Customer Supply Chain in optimizing order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics operations.
• Assist and learn the order-to-delivery process, gaining firsthand experience in how products move through the supply chain process 
• Create Quality Management Notifications (QM’s) in SAP to manage overages, shortages, damages, and returns ensuring timely resolution and process improvements 
• Work on the GTIN transition project, ensuring product data accuracy and smooth implementation across systems 
• Utilize and learn various data analytics tools to assess supply chain performance and identify opportunities for improvement. 
• Track key metrics such as order accuracy, lead times, and inventory levels to ensure operational efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and logistics to streamline supply chain processes 

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations, Food Sciences or related fields. 
• Passionate about supply chain operations, process optimization and data-driven decision making. 
• Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) experience with ERP systems is a plus
• A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
