<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Healthy Democracy Campaign Intern <strong>Department:</strong> Field Organizing</p> <p><strong>Reports to:</strong> Deputy Field Director <strong>Effective Date: </strong>February 2026</p> <p><strong>Classification:</strong> PT Intern&nbsp; &nbsp;<strong>Term:</strong>&nbsp; Through September 2026&nbsp; &nbsp;<strong>Pay Rate:</strong> $18.75/hour</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>About the Healthy Democracy Campaign</strong></h3> <p>The Healthy Democracy Campaign (HDC) is a national, student-led civic engagement competition for healthcare students. Each fall, teams of students organize voter registration, education, and civic health activities on their campuses and in their communities. HDC blends organizing, creativity, friendly competition, and leadership development and helps students see civic engagement as part of their future healthcare practice.</p> <h3><strong>Role Summary</strong></h3> <p>The HDC Intern will support the planning, execution, and day-to-day coordination of the Healthy Democracy Campaign. This is a hands-on, creative role for someone who’s excited about student engagement, digital storytelling, and grassroots organizing.</p> <p>You’ll work closely with the Deputy Field Director and Field Director to keep HDC running smoothly, support student teams, and dream up new ways to keep students motivated, connected, and having fun throughout the campaign. This role is ideal for someone who loves Canva, Google Slides, creative problem-solving, and bringing energy to virtual spaces.</p> <h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Support the Deputy Field Director with day-to-day HDC tasks and campaign coordination</li> <li>Help brainstorm and execute creative ways to keep students engaged throughout the campaign (virtual touchpoints, challenges, shout-outs, social moments)</li> <li>Assist with planning and hosting virtual student social hours, info sessions, and engagement events</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Create and edit graphics using Canva for student recruitment, social media, email, and campaign updates</li> <li>Support the creation and polishing of Google Slides for trainings, info sessions, and student-facing presentations</li> <li>Help adapt templates and materials for different student audiences (medical, nursing, social work, public health, etc.)</li> <li>Bring fresh creative ideas to make campaign materials feel fun, clear, and student-centered</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Draft and organize student-facing communications (emails, reminders, Slack/GroupMe-style messages)</li> <li>Support social content planning and student storytelling efforts</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Skills/Requirements:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Interest in civic engagement, health equity, organizing, or student leadership</li> <li>Strong comfort working with Canva and Google Slides</li> <li>Creative thinker who likes coming up with new ideas and trying things out</li> <li>Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple small projects at once</li> <li>Strong written communication skills and attention to detail</li> <li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working at a computer.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Vot-ER offers a flexible, remote work environment. We have core working hours of 12 pm to 5 pm eastern time, Monday through Friday. During those hours, all employees are expected to be available for meetings and collaboration. Outside of those core hours, each employee sets their own schedule, while recognizing that due to the collaborative nature of the Vot-ER work and mission, employees will often arrange meetings outside of core Vot-ER hours.</p> <p>At Vot-ER, the health and safety of our employees and the community is our top priority.
