About the Role

Description

Position Summary (Only for active Inland Empire Job Corps Students)

The Student Worker provides supervised, temporary center support to a designated department in order to enhance the development of employability and independent living skills.

Essential Functions

1. Assist the Maintenance Department by helping to repair center physical facilities including sidewalks, fences, grounds, roads, and any equipment affixed to a structure as an integral component.

2. Observe facility related issues and potential safety hazards and report these instances to the department supervisor.

3. Assist to ensure that equipment, tools, and supplies are clean and organized.

4. Perform general maintenance tasks for the buildings, such as window washing, floor care, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, garbage disposal, sanitizing, refilling hand sanitizer stations, painting, etc.

5. Shadow the Facility Maintenance team to learn additional maintenance-related skills.

6. Consistently model the program’s Career Success Standards.

7. Attend required training as assigned.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum

Must be 18 years of age or over. Good reading, math, verbal, and written communication skills. Technical training and general knowledge of facilities maintenance/custodial services; friendly demeanor; willingness to assist staff and peers; responds well to authority
