Quality Engineer – Intern Position

As a Quality Engineer – Intern, you will work closely with our QE Automation Engineers to support testing activities, learn modern QE practices, and contribute to the quality of our software products. This role is ideal for someone eager to explore automation, strengthen technical skills, and gain hands‑on experience in a real engineering environment.
It’s an exciting time to join the team as Teradyne continues to grow to meet market demand. Our QE Automation group plays a key role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and security of our applications.
This is a full time position onsite in North Reading- June - August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios under the guidance of senior QE engineers.
- Help maintain and organize test cases within Test Management tools.
- Support the creation and execution of manual test suites for desktop applications.
- Learn and contribute to developing automated test scripts using established frameworks and tools.
- Participate in troubleshooting and reproducing software issues, documenting findings clearly.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QE team members to understand testing objectives and project requirements.
- Assist in collecting and summarizing test metrics and reporting results to the team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in QE processes, tools, and methodologies.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#, C++, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Interest in test automation, software quality, and engineering best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Exposure to Agile development concepts or tools like Jira is a plus.

Compensation:
The base hourly range for this role is $25.50-$47.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
