We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team! This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of finance and business operations. This internship is part of a critical project aimed at providing savings for the company and ensuring the accuracy of our internal records. Under direct supervision, the ideal candidate will assist with research, information gathering, data entry, and ensure compliance with established business processes.

Pay: The hourly compensation for this internship is $17.00 per hour. 

 

Location: This position has the ability to work remotely. TDS may show preference to candidates in Madison, Wisconsin for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Project Contribution: Contribute to a critical project focused on driving savings for the company and maintaining the accuracy of internal records.
  • Research and Information Gathering: Conduct research and gather information, which may include calling vendors to obtain necessary data.
  • Invoice Validation: Contribute to invoice validation efforts to recover free cash flow.
  • Documentation: Document observations and results meticulously to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Data Entry: Assist with accurate and timely data entry into various systems and files.
  • Follow-ups: Stay on top of follow-ups with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with established business processes using data from various systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field
  • Successfully competed 2+ semesters in accounting, finance, or a related business field
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong technical aptitude, particulary in the development of Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks
  • Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
  • Prior experience working with JIRA preferred (not required)
