About the Role

Description

Lake Ridge Bank is seeking a motivated student to join us this summer as a Wealth Management Intern!  The Wealth Management Intern will be responsible for supporting the department, with needs in Financial Planning, Trust Administration and Operations and Portfolio Management during the Summer of 2026. We will be accepting applications until February 1st, 2026, with interviews being conducted in mid-February.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update the financial planning database to assign financial plans to the correct trust officers.
  • Update policies and procedures for the financial planning process.
  • Help identify key marketing pieces that need to be rebranded.
  • Sit in on 10-15 client meetings for which intern associate will prepare meeting materials or coordinate the creation of materials.
  • Reviewing and organizing the “vault” documents
    • Updating the general spreadsheet to add or delete documents that are or are no longer stored electronically or physically as well as to correct dates, names, etc.
    • Creating a synopsis of the terms of the documents to store with the documents and meeting with a personal trust officer to review and confirm the synopsis is correct/to ask questions.
    • Identifying which documents are original vs. copies and marking the originals for safekeeping and moving the copies to be scanned into the system (Jill could continue to do the actual scanning, but the intern would organize and label the documents for her).
  • Shadowing personal trust officers in meetings or calls with current clients and potential clients.
  • Shadowing any personal trust officer who is handling a post death administration at that time and helping them prepare the inventory, accounting, correspondences, etc.
  • Helping with annual account reviews.
  • Cleanup of our users on the client-end website.
  • Global audit of our accounts’ setup information.
  • Missing cost basis research for new and existing accounts.
  • Updating Approved and Non-approved lists and other materials for Trust Investment Committee
  • Prepare reports for client meetings (Statements, Snapshot reports, Etc.)
  • Update info on Stock Ratings worksheet. Update binder of Value Line and Morningstar reports and/or create an electronic “binder” for both – will offer faster access to reports on stocks/funds to portfolio managers.
  • Establish a system to pull updates on stocks/funds for PMs similar to above with research reports, etc.
  • Depending on the month – updating quarterly outside brokerage report.

Adhere to all Bank Security/Compliance Regulations

  • Complete all annual bank security and compliance training.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times.
  • Stay current on all compliance regulations required for the area and adhere to all associated guidelines.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in internal/external training as appropriate.
  • Participate in community involvement/bank activities as appropriate.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  •  Working towards an Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree.  
  • Preferred experience in a similar office/financial setting but not required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional, positive manner
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with efficiency and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with scanning equipment and computer storage systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, proficient typing/keyboarding skills. 
  • Enhanced ability and willingness to learn new programs, software and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to make good decisions and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow up skills.
  • Willingness to work toward goals and performance standards of the department including the ability to put forth the extra effort necessary to make the department a successful operation: (i.e. working additional hours, attending outside educational programs, etc.)
  • Flexibility with hours in order to meet the demands of the department.
