Position

Join WCF insurance as a Communications Intern for an educational, hands-on approach to learning about communications, marketing, and community engagement in the insurance industry. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), temporary position that works out of WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters.

As part of our internship cohort, you'll collaborate with fellow interns and departments to learn insurance from many different angles. The program includes weekly paid training sessions on insurance terminology and regular opportunities to share experiences and insights with your cohort.

Following the internship, there may be an opportunity to transition into a part-time apprentice role, depending on business needs.

 

Responsibilities

The Communications Intern will support the Marketing and Communications Department across marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the social media calendar and assisting with content creation.
  • Supporting internal communications, including newsletters, intranet updates, and other employee communication platforms.
  • Contributing to brand storytelling and messaging around WCF's value propositions.
  • Assisting with public relations and advertising projects.
  • Supporting community engagement events, including logistics, content creation, and highlighting community impact.

 

Qualifications

  • Completed Sophomore year of college or more.
  • Pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, advertising, marketing, or journalism.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • General written and oral communication skills
  • Creative mindset, attention to detail, and an interest in storytelling.

 

Pay: $17/hour for internship. Increase to pay for apprenticeship.
