About this opportunity: Join Ericsson's US 5G Smart Factory (EFA) as a Verification Engineer Lab Intern and support hands‑on verification, measurement, and failure analysis activities in a state‑of‑the‑art smart manufacturing environment. This internship is ideal for a detail‑oriented student who enjoys working at the intersection of development and product, learning metrology and test methods, and contributing to root‑cause and corrective action work for production and NPI (New Product Introduction). What you will do: Assist engineers in conducting physical measurements and material/failure analyses of components and finished goods Learn to use and help operate measurement equipment such as CMM, Optical CMM, X‑ray fluorescence, contour/roughness meters, and force gauges Support creation and verification of test setups, fixtures, and measurement methods to minimize measurement variation Help develop and maintain measurement programs (PC‑DMIS) for CMM and Optical CMM under guidance Collect, analyze, and document measurement data; prepare reports in line with component specifications and standards Participate in cross‑sectioning, contamination identification, and other failure analysis activities Assist with routine calibration and basic maintenance tasks for measurement equipment Support writing and updating work instructions and analysis reports Contribute data and observations to root cause analysis and corrective action activities Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams The skills you bring: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline 2.7+ GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, Master's, or PhD on a full-time basis at a 4-year college or university at the time of the internship Be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer or Co-Op term Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to measurements and data analysis Basic familiarity with technical drawings, specifications, and measurement concepts Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) Willingness to learn, follow safety procedures, and work in a lab/manufacturing environment Coursework or hands‑on experience with metrology, CAD, manufacturing processes, or materials testing Basic exposure to measurement systems analysis (MSA), GR&R, statistical process control (Cp/Cpk), or root‑cause analysis techniques Familiarity with computer‑aided drafting (CAD) tools What you'll gain: Practical, hands‑on experience with advanced measurement equipment and failure analysis techniques Mentorship from experienced verification and quality engineers in a leading 5G manufacturing environment Opportunity to influence measurement methods and contribute to real NPI and volume production projects Exposure to cross‑functional engineering, quality systems, and root cause investigations What happens once you apply?
