About the Role

Overview

Stellar Solutions, a nationally recognized "Great Place to Work", has exciting opportunities for college students looking for a Summer Internship. NASA has been charged with establishing a sustainable presence on the Moon by the end of this decade and then sending astronauts on to Mars. Stellar’s team is helping NASA make this ambitious challenge a reality by directly supporting their efforts to develop our nation’s future exploration systems in collaboration with NASA, Private Industry, International Partners, and academia.

 

We are seeking motivated engineering or technically focused students to join our team supporting NASA’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD) in the Human Landing System (HLS) Office’s Mission Systems Management and Systems Engineering and Integration teams, and the Space Nuclear Propulsion area within the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD). You will be mentored by top industry experts while you apply your education to satisfy Stellar Solutions’ customers' critical needs in systems engineering and integration, mission operations, program management, and strategic planning for our government customers. You will be working with both Stellar Solutions professionals and NASA civil servants to provide program management, technology portfolio management, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and systems engineering & integration assistance in support of NASA’s Human Space Exploration enterprise. 

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

Performance of tasks will take place in an on-site office environment in a collaborative environment with NASA and Stellar colleagues at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL.  All information systems and tools will be provided by the Government and Stellar Solutions.

 

We are seeking Summer 2026 Interns with the following experience and interests:

  • Engineering program management
    • Contract administration, program planning and scheduling
    • Data and configuration management
    • Model based systems engineering and digital transformation to include process reengineering and optimization
  • Aerospace Systems engineering
    • Requirements analysis and integration
    • Spacecraft vehicle design - crewed or un-crewed
    • Robotic and autonomous mission design

 Required Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with an academic focus on engineering or other applicable Scientific, Technical, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) area 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and building/managing spreadsheets
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly reliable self-starter, can be counted on to complete assignments
  • Collaborates easily with others and works well independently

 Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with MS SharePoint
  • Business operations or contract administration experience or background
  • Proficiency in effective communications with external stakeholders and customers
  • Proficiency in identifying and assessing technical and programmatic risks
  • Experience in spacecraft design and development
  • Knowledge of or experience using MBSE

 

The pay rate for summer intern positions is USD $28.00 per hour.
