About the Role

Toyota Motor Europe seeks a Digitalisation & Automation Intern to support vehicle supply chain operations by developing digital tools, data management solutions, and BI dashboards. The role focuses on automating shopfloor processes, improving quality inspections, enabling continuous improvement, and supporting European workshops during digital transformation initiatives.

Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

           

Vehicle Supply Chain (VSC) is responsible for the transportation (whether by vessel, rail or truck) of Toyota and Lexus vehicles from our Overseas – and Local Plants, to ports of export, inland compounds and/or retailers in Europe. The Vehicle Supply Chain seeks to challenge ‘Plant-to-Retailer’ lead-time, improve delivery performance and reduce cost through the application of Toyota Production System.

 

As part of vehicle logistics, ‘Accessory Process Engineering Team’ is responsible of preparing VLG’s Workshops, located across Europe, for each New Model launches (~6 / Year). Our objective is to:

• Ensure the accessories are designed for production

• Design the assembly process that should be applied in all Workshops

• Implement the process through provision of Equipment & Training

 

Your project

 

As Vehicle Supply Chain, we are going through an automation/digitalization phase, and it will be one of our focus points in the upcoming years. You will be directly working with the team manager to transform processes and tools by

1. Propose and develop data management solutions to maximise benefits from digital production systems on shopfloor.

2. Define, develop and implement a digital tool to remove Non-Value-Added tasks in Quality inspection while ensuring customer satisfaction and capacity enhancement.

3. Collect and understand needs from members on shopfloor and develop KPIs through BI to enhance continuous improvement of operations and support business.

4. Contribute to other digital projects which are being developed in parallel by utilizing Share point, Power Automate, Power Apps and any other mean of automation.

5. Review & follow-up with all the stakeholders from European workshops to build consensus and ensure successful implementation of digital solutions.

 

Your Profile

We are looking for an engineering or and related programme’s student who can bring fresh ideas to our team with

 

· An interest in programming and business intelligence

· An interest in manufacturing operations and Toyota methodologies (TPS, FMDS, Kaizen…)

· You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)

· A familiarity with MS Office, MS Share point, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI

· Curiosity to learn new ways of working

· High teamwork spirit

· Being able to travel within EU

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
