By taking a three-tiered, holistic approach for evaluating security posture and ecosystems, GuidePoint enables some of the nation’s top organizations, such as Fortune 500 companies and U.S. government agencies, to identify threats, optimize resources and integrate best-fit solutions that mitigate risk.</p></div><p>The ideal Business Development Intern will work in conjunction with sales and marketing to discover, develop, and deliver qualified prospects and set meetings for the Account Executive Team. This person will also help Account Executives manage and develop targeted plans to set meetings around IT security topics, and events to grow business opportunities. </p>
<p>This position is mainly remote with limited regional travel. However, the intern <strong>MUST</strong> be located in one of the following states: MD, DC, VA, WV, PA, DE, NC. Preferred location: NC</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify potential clients and maintain accurate CRM data</li>
<li>Work with Account Executives and the BDR Team to develop targeted outreach plan to increase business opportunities</li>
<li>Sync with Account Executives regularly to provide updates on outreach efforts, successes, and areas of improvement</li>
<li>Follow-up, qualify, engage, and manage leads and opportunities via Salesforce.com and Marketo</li>
<li>Learn OEM technologies and understand and articulate their value proposition to clients</li>
<li>Assist marketing in driving attendance to GuidePoint events and activities</li>
<li>Represent GuidePoint Consultants to clients and articulate our areas of expertise</li>
<li>Create email and call shells for individual/event-based outreach; to include targeted messaging, registration links, OEM information etc</li>
<li>Take notes during prospect meetings and enter into Salesforce.com to capture wants/needs of prospects/customers for Sales team to track</li>
<li>At the end of the internship, present metrics on successes and ROI within business development efforts to Mid-Atlantic leaders</li>
<li>Other related duties to support the region as required and assigned</li>

<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Must be located within the Mid-Atlantic region (MD, DC, VA, WV, PA, DE, NC) </li>
<li>Willingness to learn about cybersecurity solutions and business development processes</li>
<li>Strong communication skills to interact with Account Executives and vendor partners</li>
<li>Prior experience in sales is desired</li>
<li>Prior experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is desired</li>
