About the Role

Description

Job Overview: Seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting student to support our growing accounting needs and to embrace, emulate, support, and carry out the organization’s vision, mission, and workplace culture. Animal Friends utilizes QuickBooks as its accounting system.


Responsibilities:


As time permits, the intern will:

· Assist with the input of income.

· Assist with the input and payment of bills.

· Assist with the entering of month-end journal entries and the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.

· Assist with assessing and validating the accuracy of data captured in QuickBooks during the monthly closing process.

· Assist with running month-end budget variance reports.

· Assist with the preparation and analysis of the schedules required for the annual audit.

· Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills:

· Excellent, demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Outstanding analytical skills

· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

· Must be organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

· Able to work independently and as part of a team, capable of building strong internal and external working relationships.


Required Qualifications:

· Working toward Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or similar field.

· Successful completion of at least two three-credit accounting classes.

· Must be able to pass all pre-employment clearances, professional reference checks, and assessments.

· Must be comfortable working with or around dogs, cats, and rabbits.
