Engineer Intern

 

Location: Fort Smith, AR

Business Unit/Corporate Function: Consumer Packaging Division

Responsible for assisting plant production and engineering team with technical support for improvement projects.  Develops or improves equipment / processes by applying creative and innovative engineering applications to achieve “state-of-the-art” technologies.

 

Job Functions

Lean Initiatives:

·       Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to Lean projects.

·       Contribute to Lean projects at the Plant level.

Process Engineer Initiatives:

·       Provide technical expertise and leadership in equipment improvement projects (Capital and Non-Capital)

·       Assists in the conception, development, design, and performance of various operations and maintenance improvement projects.

·       Supports continuous process improvement efforts for all departments.

·       Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to process improvement projects.

·       Develops cost estimates for maintenance improvement projects.

·       Assists with the maintenance of all technical documentation including prints, manuals, and process software.

·       Develop Training materials for Maintenance Technician Training

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

·       Assist in development of cost savings initiatives and track progress towards plant goals.

·       Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.

·       Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.

 

Job Requirements

·       Completion of Junior Year of Engineering bachelor’s degree Program for Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
