PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission (“MSLC”) Summer Internship Program provides emerging leaders with the opportunity to build a foundational understanding of career pathways in public service through experiential learning opportunities.
Interns will participate in weekly professional development workshops, mentoring opportunities, and conclude the program with a final presentation to showcase the insights they’ve developed over the summer.
JOB SUMMARY
The PC Support Intern will assist the Lottery’s IT Support/PC Software Specialist team in providing day-to-day technical support for Massachusetts State Lottery staff across multiple office locations. This role offers hands-on experience supporting end users, deploying devices, software installation, and working with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and Microsoft Intune.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under supervision, the intern will:
Provide first-level support for Lottery users via in-person, phone, and remote tools.
Assist with troubleshooting basic issues on Windows PCs, Macs, and mobile devices (iPads/iPhones).
Support device setup, software installation, and equipment deployment using standard procedures.
Assist with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tasks using Microsoft Intune, including enrolling devices and confirming compliance/configuration.
Help support printers and common peripherals.
Create and update support tickets in ServiceNow, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
Assist with IT asset inventory tasks, including tracking device assignments and documenting equipment movement.
May involve lifting and moving IT equipment such as laptops, monitors, and printers within reasonable limits (estimated 20-30 lbs).
Perform administrative tasks and support reporting as needed.
The intern will need to travel to work in any of the Lottery’s six (6) office locations as needed.
A valid driver’s license will be required.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time paid internship from June 1, 2026 - August 28, 2026. Program dates can be flexible based on the selected candidate's school schedule.
This internship is primarily in-person and will be based out of the Dorchester office. Travel to other Lottery offices will be required as needed. Occasional remote work may be available based on assignment and supervisor approval.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a degree program or coursework related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and general troubleshooting concepts; familiarity with MacOS is a plus.
- Interest in (or exposure to) enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and Microsoft Intune.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with users ranging from beginner to advanced.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow documented procedures.
- Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to learn in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow IT security standards.
