The Lab & Systems Engineering Intern position resides in the Lab Services department at CableLabs. This department maintains multiple technology labs providing shared resources to individual technical focus areas. Our team plays a crucial role in the daily engineering efforts of the company by providing environments and resources to teams developing the next generation of technologies for the cable industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Improve lab resource availability and ease of use through increased monitoring, alerting and automation.
  • Research and deploy additional features based on user feedback.
  • Facilitate daily activities in the labs.

Qualifications


What Is a Must Have

  • Studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic Linux Administration, Red Hat or Ubuntu
  • Knowledge of how to use and deploy containers.
  • L2 & L3 Networking
  • Familiarity with version control systems and code collaboration using git.

 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes
  • Orchestration utilities such as Helm or Ansible
  • Ability to configure and manage networking OS including Arista EOS and OcNOS
  • Familiarity with DOCSIS, PON/Ethernet and Wireless (4G, 5G) networks

 

Working conditions and physical requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment.
