As we expand across Europe, we are looking for a Firmware Development Intern to join our team in <strong>Zoetermeer</strong>. You will play a key role in making our service truly global by developing the features that allow Medido to be managed, refurbished, and activated in any local market.</span></p><div><p></p><p><span><strong>What you will do</strong></span></p></div><p><span>As part of the Product Development team, you will dive into the heart of the Medido device firmware. Your mission is to develop the logic that allows our devices to transition seamlessly between different international markets and users.</span></p><p><span><strong>Your key responsibilities will include:</strong></span></p><ul><li><p><span><strong>Device Lifecycle Features:</strong> Developing <strong>bare-metal C</strong> firmware on <strong>STM32</strong> to support local device/client activation and regional management features.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Engineering for Quality:</strong> Writing high-quality, maintainable code using <strong>Unity</strong> for unit testing and <strong>CMock</strong> for hardware abstraction/mocking.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Automated Validation:</strong> Designing and executing <strong>automated integration tests</strong> to ensure that activation and management features work reliably.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Hardware Interaction:</strong> Validating your code directly on Medido hardware in our Zoetermeer lab.</span></p></li></ul><div><p></p><p><span><strong>Our Tech Stack</strong></span></p></div><ul><li><p><span><strong>Language:</strong> Bare-metal C, with Python for test tooling</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Hardware:</strong> STM32 (ARM Cortex-M7).</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Testing:</strong> Unity, CMock, and automated integration testing frameworks.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Process:</strong> Gitlab, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.</span></p></li></ul><div><p></p><p><span><strong>What we are looking for</strong></span></p></div><p><span>We are looking for a proactive student who values engineering rigor and enjoys the challenge of building reliable, "production-grade" firmware.</span></p><ul><li><p><span><strong>Educational Background:</strong> Currently pursuing a degree (BSc or MSc) in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>C Proficiency:</strong> Strong foundation in C and experience with microcontrollers (preferably STM32).</span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span><strong>Testing Mindset:</strong> You believe that code is only as good as its tests.
