Job Responsibilities:

Position Overview

This position will support the Purchasing team in managing Suppliers from the inception of the RFQ process through the award of production programs, into start of production and finally through serial production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain purchasing records, process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
  • Support in preparation of RFQ packages/analysis of supplier quotes.
  • Participate and support sourcing decisions based on negotiated cost, quality, delivery and financial stability.
  • Support buyers to drive supplier cost savings through on-going negotiations with the commodity buyers and help to drive value-add value engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
  • Work with internal customers and external suppliers to aid in resolving supplier quality and/or delivery issues as they arise.
  • Responsibility for administrative and financial related tasks which pertain to the purchasing group.
  • Other special projects as assigned by Purchasing Management.

Qualifications:

  • Some related experience preferred

Education / Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a College or University

Special Knowledge / Skills:

  • Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong Inter-Personal Skills.
  • Proficient Presentation Skills.
  • Ability to travel locally

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
