Job Responsibilities:

This internship position is part of the Advanced Robotics team within the Corporate Engineering and R&D department. The team focuses on deploying and validating advanced robotic systems to support automation and testing initiatives. The candidate will assist in implementing robotic technologies on real systems and contribute to the development and execution of test plans. The role offers hands-on experience with robotics hardware and software, including exposure to integration, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced robotics engineers and gain practical knowledge in applying robotic solutions within an automotive context.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation, configuration, and integration of robotic hardware and software into test environments.
  • Perform functional and performance tests on robotic systems.
  • Record observations, gather data, and ensure accurate documentation of results.
  • Help identify and resolve technical issues during implementation and testing phases.
  • Contribute ideas to improve testing workflows, automation processes, and system reliability.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards during all testing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with robot manipulators.
  • Experience in software programming (C++, Python).
  • Good understanding of robotics fundamentals and automation.
  • Exposure to hardware integration and troubleshooting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of robotic motion planning and controls is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education/Experience:

  • MS in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Average mobility to move within an office or lab environment.
  • Ability to conduct work at a computer for extended periods.
