Job Responsibilities:

POSITION OVERVIEW


The Purchasing Intern will be assisting the Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors, & Lighting Purchasing Team with purchasing related tasks and projects, as well as data and process analysis to directly related to procurement management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


· Research and identify potential new suppliers.

· Communicate with vendors to get product information and negotiate prices.

· Track order status and resolve any issues with deliveries and discrepancies.

· Assist in creating and processing purchase orders.

· Review and compare supplier quotes and proposals.

· Help with data analysis and spend analysis to find cost-saving opportunities.

· Contribute to preparing reports on procurement activities and supplier performance.

· Work with other departments like finance and logistics to coordinate needs.

· Support the Purchasing Team by participating in meetings and providing administrative assistance.

· Assist with market research to stay informed about industry needs.

· Maintain accurate records of procurement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Academic performance and career interest in Procurement management preferred

· Open to learning and exploring procurement in a manufacturing setting


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

· High School Diploma

· Currently Attending a College or University


SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

· Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)

· Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.

· Position will be onsite at Novi, MI facility
