About the Role

What We Need YOU To Do:

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest intern in the Division of Environmental Services (DES) located at our lab in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

 

Essentials. Let's talk about 'em:

  • Responsible for cleaning and sterilization of glassware, laboratory equipment, instruments; prepare various samples for laboratory analyses.

  • Assist in the analysis of stream samples for intensive water quality surveys.

  • Prepare chemical reagents and standard solutions.

  • Aid professional staff in preparation of reagents and other solutions used in the laboratory; dispose of samples after completion of analytical work; handle acids and other caustic agents.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program directly related to the position or have recently graduated within the quarter/semester immediately preceding the start date.
  • Major area of study: Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical) or relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable.
  • Skills in computers (word processing and database work)
