About the Role
TERM FULL TIME – Tourism Coordinator Intern

The City of Dryden is located in the heart of Northwestern Ontario and is the second-largest city in the Kenora District.  Located on Wabigoon Lake, the City is enveloped by the beauty of tranquil lakes, stunning views and the boreal forest. The City of Dryden is seeking a self-motivated and creative Tourism Coordinator Intern to join our Community Development Department. In this position you will support the delivery of tourism marketing, visitor services, community events, and promotional initiatives aligned with the City’s Economic Development and Tourism Strategy. This position plays a key role in enhancing Dryden’s profile as a destination, supporting signature tourism initiatives, and delivering high-quality visitor experiences.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in tourism development, digital marketing, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and municipal operations, while contributing directly to projects that support economic growth and community vibrancy in Northwestern Ontario.

 Position Requirements:  
  • Post-secondary education in tourism, marketing, communications, business, economic development, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms, website content management, and digital marketing tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest in tourism development, community events, and visitor services.
  • Knowledge of or interest in Indigenous and Métis tourism.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
  • Must provide a clean criminal record check at applicant’s expense prior to start date.

This opportunity is for an existing vacancy and is a non-union term position for a period of twelve (12) months.  This position is thirty-five (35) hours per week with an hourly rate of pay of $27.48 with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act.
