<h3>The Position</h3><p><b>2026 Summer Intern - Public Affairs & Access: Issue Advocacy & Alliances (US External Affairs)</b></p><p></p><p><b>Department Summary</b></p><p>Public Affairs & Access is a multi-disciplinary organization that includes Access Solutions & Patient Support; Channel & Contract Management; Corporate Communications; External Affairs; Patient Strategy; Policy, Evidence, & Access Strategy; and Strategic Business Operations. Our mission is to drive positive change in the healthcare system so that every patient can access our science. We lead the development of meaningful partnerships, forward-looking pricing, contracting and distribution strategies, and proactive policy solutions that advance a more equitable and hopeful future for all of those who need our therapies.</p><p></p><p><b>This position is based in Washington, DC, On-Site.</b></p><p></p><p><b><b>The Opportunity</b></b></p><p><span>Our Issue Advocacy & Alliances team is looking for an intern to work in Washington D.C. and the states, as we look to educate and engage third party stakeholders, coalitions and alliances.  In this role, you will work with the broader government affairs team to gain experience and understanding of our strategic advocacy plans and legislative priorities and will support our development of a local advocacy model. </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Attending external stakeholder events including but limited to: patient and provider policy summits, think tank briefings and trade association meetings. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Engagement with external stakeholders to understand how key policies impact patients, their organizations and our business</span></p></li><li><p><span>Conduct research on external organization policy positions and support External Affairs team</span></p></li><li><p><span>projects, events, and other activities as needed</span></p></li><li><p><span>Participate in team strategy sessions as we create advocacy plans on our key priorities</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Program Highlights</b></p><ul><li><p>Intensive 12-weeks , full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.</p></li><li><p>Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)</p></li><li><p>A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. </p></li><li><p>Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.</p></li><li><p>Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry. </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Who You Are (Requirements) </b></p><p><b>Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree </span></p></li><li><p><span>Must have attained a Bachelor's degree (recent graduates not currently enrolled in a grad program)</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Preferred Majors:</b></b><span> Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, or Public Policy. </span></p><p></p><p><b><b>Required Skills:</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion</span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of the US legislative process</span></p></li></ul><p><b><span> </span></b></p><p><b>Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. </b></p><p></p><p>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Washington, DC is $21- $28/hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
