About the Role

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Project Engineering Intern in our West Allis, Wisconsin location. This internship is full-time during the Summer of 2026. The hourly rate for this internship is $20.30 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary

 

Energize your career through our intern program, which offers a chance to gain professional experience while enrolled in college, along with competitive pay. Your internship will offer real-world experience through hands-on work related to your field of study.  Join a team of multi-disciplinary project managers supporting the design and construction of multi-million dollar projects needed to improve our gas and electric distribution systems. You will receive mentoring and guidance from experienced project managers within the Customer Service and Operations – Major Projects group.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to provide a vital support role to the Major Projects group while gaining valuable project management skills.

Job Responsibilities

   

  • Support staff on projects while developing technical expertise, interpersonal/communication skills, and project management skills
  • Data analysis / data entry to help develop better project cost estimates
  • Project Management support
  • Participate in site visits to enhance learning
  • Assist in managing small projects
  • Procedure reviews and updates

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology or related Degrees with a graduation date after July 2026.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8

End Date: 03/13/2026 

 

Pay Range Minimum:  $20.30 

Pay Range Maximum:  $23.43 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
