About this opportunity:

We are looking for students who are currently in their 2nd ,3rd, or 4th year of Engineering studies for a summer work term in our Central Alhambra Region.  

 

Paramount believes that a strong understanding of field operations is an invaluable asset for engineering students who wish to have a successful career in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will work in field operations, learning the functions and operations of equipment in the field as well as processing facilities. This position will allow the student to learn first-hand about the petroleum industry through hands-on work experience. 

 

The summer student term will commence in May 2026 and last for a four-month period. The successful candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Rocky Mountain House, Leslieville, or Sylvan Lake area for their work term.

 

Who you are: 

 

  • You are currently enrolled in a Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Geological Engineering Program at SAIT, NAIT, University of Calgary, or University of Alberta
  • You are able to work effectively in a team environment
  • You are someone who values feedback as a learning tool
  • You are motivated, hard-working and determined to achieve superior results
  • You are focused and have a keen attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • Previous oil and gas experience (including field experience) is considered an asset

 

To be eligible for a Paramount Resources student position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution or trades program
  • You are available to work the full duration of the work term
  • You are legally entitled to work in Canada, without restriction by way of one of the following:
  • Canadian Citizenship
  • Permanent Residency 
  • Valid work permit
  • As this position is safety sensitive, you will be required to complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and obtain a negative result
  • As duties include driving a company vehicle, you will be required to produce a valid Operator’s license and current driver’s abstract
