About the Role

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a current student seeking a year-long placement internship to join our State Street team to support our UK Depositary function. The perfect candidate is a confident, self-starter with strong communication skills and attention to detail who thrives managing projects.

Program dates: 22June 2026 – 21 June 2027

You must be available to participate in the program in person in UK, starting from day one and for its full duration. You must be available to participate in the program in person, starting from day one and for its full duration and you are required to work from the office 4 days a week.

What you will be responsible for

  • Supporting the UK Depositary team with day-to-day tasks and projects

  • Understanding State Street’s Depositary product and working with the client, operational and regulatory teams to support excellent service provision

  • Coordinating new business and change events from submission to implementation in accordance with controls to effectively manage risk

  • Supporting the delivery of operational services by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across key processes

  • Developing a good understanding of client organisations and building strong client relationships to support exceptional service delivery

  • Leading and facilitating meetings on client sentiment to ensure clear communication, timely follow-up on action items and escalation where required

  • Collaborating across internal teams and external stakeholders to support governance, manage risk, and uphold regulatory standards

  • Demonstrate “risk excellence” and an ethical mindset, establish a strong working relationship with SSTL service delivery and other teams which support the effective function and governance of SSTL

Education & Preferred Qualifications                                          

Candidates should be:

  • A minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent (predicted)

  • Undergraduate students: degree in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics

  • Effective communicators with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment

  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning and improvement

  • Motivated by real-world problem solving and eager to contribute innovative ideas

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must.
