During this exciting 8-month program, you will join one of our dynamic pre-approved CPA program rotations jam-packed with opportunities to develop your core competencies. We provide on-the-job training and other educational support that will prepare you for complex and challenging assignments. The Co-op Program runs in parallel with the post grad TELUS Pre-Approved CPA Program, known internally as our Finance Management Development Program (FMDP). As part of a larger group of Co-ops and candidates currently enrolled in our Pre-Approved CPA Program, you’ll be able to take advantage of TELUS’ mentorship program and community volunteering opportunities.

 

Depending on which rotation you are assigned to, your Co-op experience at TELUS may count towards the overall CPA practical experience requirement.

 

Salary Range: $20 to $25 per hour

Work Style: Hybrid (In-Office+Virtual)

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform financial analysis, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for effective business decisions
  • Drive financial reporting, budgeting, analytics, forecasting, and provide financial input to projects and business cases
  • Embrace continuous learning, developing a deep understanding of source systems and business processes
  • Collaborate with peers, managers, and our senior finance team

 

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

 

  • Currently enrolled in Commerce or Business Administration studies specializing in Accounting or Finance and pursuing a CPA Accounting designation
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and G-Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Proven ability to balance work, school, and life commitments, while producing quality work on time
  • Innovative mindset, eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

 

Great-to-haves:

 

  • Completed one or more previous Co-op term(s) or summer internship(s)
  • Work experience, community involvement, and team engagement
  • Bilingualism (English/French)
  • Experience using AI tools and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency, with a strong emphasis on responsible and ethical usage
