About the Role

Company Description

Eurofins is an international network of independent life sciences companies, providing a unique range of analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries, to make life and our environment safer, healthier and more sustainable. From the food you eat, to the water you drink, to the medicines you rely on, Eurofins laboratories work with the biggest companies in the world to ensure the products they supply are safe, their ingredients are authentic, and labelling is accurate.

The Eurofins network is dedicated to delivering testing services that contribute to the health and safety of society and the planet, and to its corporate responsibility to protect the environment and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion across its companies around the world.

Job Description

The Permanent Improvement Programmes (PIP) is the internal consulting team of the Eurofins Group, based in Brussels. The team’s primary mission is to define, govern and implement programmes to ensure harmonisation, standardisation and optimisation of Eurofins operations.

Eurofins is currently looking for new talent to join their driven, highly skilled and diverse team of consultants. This is a very challenging and entrepreneurial position for a highly motivated candidate who is keen to get involved in the global strategy of a fast-growing company.

The Permanent Improvement Programmes are led by a diverse and international team working closely with upper management. This is a great position to get your foot in the door of a company where entrepreneurship is valued and internal movements are possible around the world.

You will be assigned to at least one project in the Permanent Improvement Programmes scope and support an Internal Consultant by independently running a number of specific activities, with a clear and limited scope. The PIP intern supports, or contributes to, projects aiming to deliver the key objectives of the Internal Consulting team:

  • Define and support alignment and standardisation of key concepts and processes at Eurofins
  • Define and develop standard laboratories and processes for specific applications
  • Develop methodologies and standards in performance and cost management

Some exciting projects the PIP team has overseen:

Conduct cost analyses to identify and correct low margin services – With financial and operation data obtained from the laboratory, the PIP team modelled how P&L costs are absorbed by each test. This enabled detailed portfolio profitability analysis, leading to targeted pricing adjustments and the identification of improvement project.

Work on longer-term initiatives such as the global roll-out of new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – By working closely with laboratory managers to restructure cost and revenue accounting, they helped identify cost-saving opportunities using internal benchmarks and standardised project work breakdown structures.

Productivity benchmarking – In collaboration with laboratory managers, the PIP team gathered and standardised operational data to benchmark productivity across laboratories. Through in-depth analysis, they uncovered root causes behind performance differences between comparable teams and departments.

This internship is compensated. An internship agreement with your university is required.

Start date: March or April 2026.

Duration: 6 months.

Qualifications

Education: Final-year student in a master’s degree in science, engineering or business in a top university/business school with an excellent academic track record.

Soft skills: Strong problem-solver with “can-do” attitude, able to both pragmatically define solutions and capture and understand all relevant details when necessary.
