JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Game Level Designer Intern, you will work closely with Game Designer, Environment Artists, and Programmers to design, prototype, and iterate on engaging game levels. You will help shape player flow, pacing, challenge, and exploration, contributing directly to playable builds and live game content.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about level design, gameplay mechanics, and player psychology, and eager to learn hands-on in a production environment.

 Key Responsibilities

·       Design and prototype game levels, missions, and gameplay spaces aligned with the game’s vision and mechanics

·       Create level layouts, blockouts, and flow diagrams focusing on pacing, difficulty, and player guidance

·       Implement levels using Unreal Engine (Blueprints / editor tools)

·       Collaborate with environment artists to integrate visual storytelling, props, and set dressing

·       Work with game designers to align levels with core mechanics, objectives, and narrative beats

·       Playtest levels, gather feedback, and iterate to improve gameplay clarity and fun factor.

·       Assist in documenting level design guidelines and best practices.

·       Optimize levels for performance, readability, and player experience

Required Skills

·       Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Game Design, Game Development, or related field

·       Strong understanding of gameplay flow, player psychology, and spatial design.

·       Familiarity with Unreal Engine (preferred) or other game engines (Unity, etc.)

·       Basic knowledge of level block-outs, grey boxing, and iteration workflows.

·       Good communication and collaboration skills.

·       Passion for playing and analyzing games (FPS, racing, action, adventure, etc.)
