Serves on the UF Health Communication division’s External Communications Team. Provides communications support by writing, editing and maintaining content for multimedia communications tools and campaigns. Helps generate news reports from Meltwater service. Helps implement PR plans, social mendiaassists with media and video tours and diverse projects as needed. Interacts with diverse colleagues and customers, including leaders and staff from across UF Health, UF Health Shands and UF colleges and institutes. Helps inform and engage diverse audiences by telling compelling stories that illustrate UF Health’s commitment to quality patient care, innovative research and health education to improve quality of life.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of the UF Health Communications Division’s External Communications Team.
Provide communications support by writing, editing, and maintaining content for multimedia communications tools and campaigns.
Assist with generating news reports using the Meltwater media monitoring service.
Support the implementation of public relations plans, including social media efforts.
Assist with media and video tours and other diverse communications projects as needed.
Interact with a wide range of colleagues and customers, including leaders and staff across UF Health, UF Health Shands, and UF colleges and institutes.
Help inform and engage diverse audiences by telling compelling stories that highlight UF Health’s commitment to:

Qualifications
Part-Time Internship
Time Commitment:
12–15 hours per week
Minimum commitment through the summer session
Potential to continue through the academic year
Eligibility Requirements:
Currently enrolled as a university junior, senior, or graduate student
Major in Public Relations, Journalism, or Communications
Academic Requirements:
Successful completion of Writing for Mass Communications and Reporting coursework
Completion of basic Public Relations coursework preferred
Required Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated experience writing for multimedia communications platforms
Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) style
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work professionally in a complex academic and business environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior completion of a communications-related internship
