About the Role

DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for an
Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to work in a dynamic Research and Development environment. In this role
you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a
difference.

DEKA offers Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). This position is for a 6+ month rotation for the Summer/Fall semester starting in June 2026.

To be successful in this role you need the following skills and experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics a plus)
  • SOLIDWORKS (or other CAD program) experience
  • Knowledge of creating manufacturing drawings
  • Experience with Rapid Prototyping
  • Experience with data acquisition and data presentation (python or LabView experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics (CFD experience a plus)
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented

*Applicants should be aware that short-term housing options in Manchester, NH are limited and that DEKA is not able to financially assist with housing.

We understand that most candidates would like to know if they have a placement as soon as possible, but at DEKA it takes more time than other companies at we review every application that is submitted.  We will try to let you know as soon as we can, but encourage you to pursue other opportunities as well.

*A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program, or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
