Brief Role Description

The Financial Planning Scholar will gain hands-on experience in financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis within a dynamic corporate environment. This role is designed for a graduate-level student who wants to apply academic knowledge to real-world financial processes, develop analytical skills, and learn best practices in IFRS compliance and corporate reporting.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Support Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Assist in consolidating annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial plans for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Help develop financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate business performance and strategic options.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze financial results and variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Prepare reporting materials including KPIs, trend analysis, and executive summaries for internal stakeholders.

Research & Learning

  • Explore best practices in financial planning and IFRS compliance; contribute to internal projects and presentations.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to understand corporate financial systems and processes.

Systems & Tools

  • Learn to work with VW financial systems (ZEUS, Board, & FACTS) for data entry and reporting accuracy.
  • Gain exposure to advanced Excel modeling and financial analytics tools.

Collaboration

  • Participate in planning and review meetings with finance managers and directors.
  • Communicate findings clearly and professionally to support decision-making.

Qualification requirements

  • Rising sophomore, junior or senior
  • Strong GPA
  • Strong preference for Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
