About the Role

Description


Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.

Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, 7 technology centers, 1 high precision machining center, and has installed more than 45,000 machines throughout North America.


We currently have a position open for a Data Analyst Intern in our Sudbury, MA Location.


Job Summary: The Data Analyst Intern is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help the organization make informed business decisions. This entry-level position supports the development of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations while maintaining data accuracy and consistency across systems.


Key Responsibilities:

· Gather, clean, and organize data from multiple internal and external sources.

· Perform basic statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

· Build and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).

· Assist in data validation, quality assurance, and database maintenance.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.

· Document processes, data sources, and methodologies for reporting transparency.

· Support senior analysts or management with ad hoc data requests and projects.


Required Qualifications & Skills:


Education: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.


Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

o Basic understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

o Exposure to Python, R, or other analytics tools is a plus.


Soft Skills:

o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

o High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

o Effective communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

o Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
