About the Role

WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Intern - ADMS Network Modeler in our Green Bay, Wisconsin or Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position will begin in May 2026 and will be full-time through the summer. The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary

We employ students for summer and year-round opportunities to help design creative cost effective systems and equipment that keep the energy flowing to our customers in a safe and reliable manner. WEC Energy Group offers a variety of engineering opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience that are currently enrolled in a four-year degree program. Students work with experienced members of these functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develops knowledge and skills to build and maintain network displays for distribution, substation and transmission views
  • Completes SCADA mapping of electrical devices with assistance
  • Builds skills to analyze and validate auto-generated views
  • Completes analysis and troubleshooting for testing and commissioning new devices with assistance
  • Analyzes import GIS information, troubleshoots errors and develops solutions
  • Promotes model changes into ADMS network
  • Assists with symbols and symbol profiles within ADMS
  • Utilizes business standards to review, analyze and confirm network model and substation validations

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering, IT or related degrees with a graduation date after June 2026. 
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Related school project experience is preferred
  • Internship experience is preferred

End Date: 03/13/2026 

 

Pay Range Minimum:  $22.00 

Pay Range Maximum:  $26.24 

 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
