About the Role
<p><strong>THE JOB / Account Trainee (Brand Campaigns) (Financial Services Client)</strong></p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCES /</strong> Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.</p> <p>We are looking for a motivated, hardworking trainee to join our campaigns team in Charlotte, NC. The trainee will get the opportunity to join a team that plans and executes high level activations and campaign programming at world class events across the country. The primary responsibility of this position is to support campaign activation for a financial services client. Potential responsibilities include managing administrative documents, pre-event planning, competitive research, local market/on-site activation, inventory management, and event analysis.</p> <p>The right candidate will be able to work independently, as part of a team, and will work closely with internal teammates and vendors. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn account management, event planning, on-site logistics and event activation skills as well as interact with colleagues amongst the larger account team.</p> <p>Strong team dynamics, excellent organizational skills, a willingness to learn, attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are required for this position.</p> <p><strong>THE WORK YOU’LL DO</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support broader campaign team across multiple programs</li> <li>Assist in administration and event operations, including coordinating activation elements, making travel arrangements, and coordinating on-site materials (shipping and tracking of promotional items, signage, collateral, etc.)</li> <li>Assist with vendor management, premium procurement and property research</li> <li>Support teammates with planning and on-site execution of event marketing programs</li> <li>Prepare pre-event briefing materials on select campaign programs</li> <li>Manage documents such as status reports, inventory tracking documents and meeting notes</li> <li>Participate in brainstorms and creative ideation and provide research as requested</li> <li>Assist in day-to-day general office administration such as managing incoming and outgoing mail/packages and shipments, etc.</li> <li>Other duties as reasonably assigned</li> <li>Weekend/holiday work and travel are required</li> </ul> <p><strong>THE BIGGER TEAM YOU’LL JOIN</strong></p> <p>Recognized as one of the <a href="https://www.octagon.com/news/octagon-selected-to-sports-business-journals-2023-best-places-to-work-in-sports/">“Best Places to Work in Sports”</a>, Octagon is the global sports, entertainment, and experiential marketing arm of the Interpublic Group.</p> <p>We take pride in being Playmakers – finding insightful, bold ways to create play in our work, our lives, and in the world. Are you a Playmaker?</p> <p><strong>WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR</strong></p> <ul> <li>A passion and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or culture</li> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in a related field</li> <li>0-1 years of work or internship experience in the communications, advertising or marketing industries – previous event marketing experience is a plus</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)</li> <li>Capacity to become knowledgeable on our clients’ industry, brand and product offerings</li> <li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within strict timelines</li> <li>Mature business sense and ability to work alongside the client daily</li> <li>Capable of solving problems effectively and independently as well as working as a team</li> <li>Possesses interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) and superior organizational skills</li> <li>Valid US driver’s license and clean driving record</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.</li> <li>Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed.
