About the Role

Purpose of the Job

Jebsen Capital is a global macro investor active across multiple asset classes. We employ a top-down approach to identifying opportunities created by structural trends and event-driven market inefficiencies. We seek to safeguard and expand capital entrusted to us in an ever-changing global environment.

We are looking for talented and motivated interns to join our Global Macro and Equities hedge fund teams. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of financial markets, data, and technology, and to contribute meaningfully to our investment and research process

Responsibilities

As a Markets intern, you will work closely with portfolio managers and analysts on live investment decisions. This is a hands-on role and high-performers will be given real responsibility and exposure to the investment process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor and analyse global macroeconomic developments across rates, FX, equities and commodities.
  • Track and interpret economic data releases, central bank communications, and geopolitical events, and assess their cross-asset market impact.
  • Build and maintain research tools, dashboards, and data pipelines to support investment decision-making.
  • Apply AI and data-driven techniques to analyse, summarize, and synthetise large volumes of financial and market information.
  • Help automate and improve internal research, monitoring, and reporting workflows.
  • Propose and prototype new ideas at the intersection of technology and investing to improve the team’s analytical edge.
  • Communicate regularly with team members, gather feedback, and iterate on tools and processes used in the investment workflow.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in markets:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Exceptional English communication skills (verbal & written), with the ability to simplify complex ideas, and present analysis clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and macroeconomic dynamics.
  • Highly analytical, rigorous, and comfortable working with data and ambiguity.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and able to operate effectively in a small, high-performance team environment.
  • Programming skills are strongly preferred.
  • Experience in cloud programming (AWS) is an asset.
  • Genuine curiosity about recent advances in artificial intelligence (e.g., foundation models, agents, workflow automation) and their application to research and investing.
