Become a Member of Our Field Staff:

Enjoy working outside? Want to get hands on agricultural experience? Here at Lakeside Foods, our Field Scout Intern will work closely with the Ag Manager and Fieldmen to ensure crops are planted according to our harvest schedules, scout crops for weed, insect and disease pressure, and develop appropriate action plans. If you are a creative problem-solver who likes to work outdoors during the summer months we want to talk with you.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Assist Agriculture Manager and Fieldmen with a variety of day to day tasks.
  • Aid in seed delivery and GPS mapping of fields.
  • Taking population counts
  • Routine monitoring of bug traps.
  • Identifying weeds, disease, insects and damage caused by such.
  • Report back to Agriculture Manager and Fieldmen with daily findings in the field.
  • Pretest raw product from the field to determine harvest timing.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

 

 What You’ll Bring:

  • Agriculture experience. (Preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
  • Positive Attitude
