We are seeking an EHS / Safety Intern to support our manufacturing and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs. This internship is ideal for students interested in safety, environmental compliance, and manufacturing operations who want hands‑on experience with a global industrial company.

Position Overview
As an EHS / Safety Intern, you will assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) systems across Twin Disc’s network. You’ll support manufacturing locations, gain exposure to real‑world safety challenges, and contribute to building a strong safety culture. This role provides meaningful project experience, coaching from operational leaders, and opportunities to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities
Program Support
  • Assist in updating and maintaining corporate EHS documents, training materials, and safety programs.
  • Help track EHS initiatives and participate in ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Support the development of risk‑management tools and safety communication resources.
Incident & Prevention Support
  • Participate in incident investigations by gathering data, reviewing documentation, and supporting root‑cause analysis.
  • Help track first aids, near misses, and corrective actions to ensure timely follow‑up.
Compliance & Auditing Assistance
  • Assist the human resources staff during internal audits by preparing documentation, checklists, and observations.
  • Help manufacturing sites gather data needed for annual EHS plans and compliance reporting.
Coaching & Collaboration
  • Provide on‑site or virtual support to manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Engage with cross‑functional partners to help drive awareness of safety requirements.
  • Participate in EHS training sessions and help develop tools that strengthen safety knowledge across the network.

Qualifications
Education
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety, OSHA principles, or industrial environmental concerns (coursework accepted).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn from experienced EHS professionals.
