About the Role

Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. The PSI Accounting Department is currently seeking ambitious Finance Intern to provide support to the Accounting and Finance Teams as well as the program management office. The intern will be performing daily accounting and financial reporting tasks, including other administrative duties as needed.

The PSI program offers interns the opportunity to build financial and accounting knowledge and experience working with various projects and corporate teams. An ideal candidate is well-versed in fundamental accounting principles and financial analytics, has experience with databases and models, and is motivated with attention-to-detail.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry, data validation, review of accounting entries.
  • Perform analysis of financial information.
  • Assist in maintaining the accounting system and databases to reflect latest contract data and information.
  • Research industry news, trends, and business development opportunities.
  • Update organizational pipeline, backlog, and forecast data.
  • Provide budgetary analysis and support to Corporate Departments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled in a college undergraduate or graduate program. Finance majors preferred. 
  • Strong academic record, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Able to work remotely.

Desired Qualifications

  • Great attention-to-detail.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Knowledgeable with information systems, databases, and accounting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office especially Excel, Powerpoint, and SharePoint.
