The Sequencing Software Chapter is dedicated to the design, development, and maintenance of high-impact software solutions that power the next generation of sequencing. Our focus is dual-faceted:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>IVD Development: Building regulated, clinical-grade software for in vitro diagnostic platforms that enable healthcare providers to make life-critical treatment decisions with confidence.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Internal Diagnostics Lab Support: Developing sophisticated informatics tools and pipelines for internal diagnostic labs, streamlining the journey from raw biological sample to actionable data.</span></p></li></ul><p><br /><span>This internship position is located in</span><b><b> Santa Clara, on-site. </b><span> </span></b><br /> </p><p><b><b>The Opportunity</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Design, write, modify, test, and debug software applications. Write maintainable, reliable, reusable, secure, performant code.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Participate in design and code reviews to ensure adherence to architecture, coding standards and best practices.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Contribute to project documentation, including design specifications, and technical documentation.</span><br /> </p></li></ul><p><b><b>Program Highlights</b></b></p><ul><li><p><b><b>Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.</b></b></p></li><li><p><b><b>Program start dates are in May/June 2026.</b></b></p></li><li><p><b><b>A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. </b></b></p></li><li><p><span>Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Who You Are</b></b></p><p></p><p><b><b>Required Education </b></b><br />You meet one of the following criteria:</p><ul><li><p>Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree.</p></li><li><p>Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Required Majors: </b></b>Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, or related discipline.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Required Skills: </b></b></p><ul><li><p>Proficient in Java.</p></li><li><p>Experience with micro-services architecture, messaging, multi-threading.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with database management using Postgres or other relational database.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of testing tools and frameworks, including Junit, Test NG, Mockito.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Experience with back-end framework such as Spring, Spring Boot.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.</span></p></li></ul><p><br />​<b><b>Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. </b></b><br /> </p><p><span>The expected salary for this position based on the primary location of  California </span><span>is<b> </b></span><span><b>$45.00 per hour. </b>Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
