Job Summary

Under direct supervision, utilize engineering and scientific principles to perform technical and analytical studies. Provide assistance on projects that involve planning, application of equipment, construction, operation and maintenance of electric power system facilities. Incumbents in this position are responsible for assisting in and/or the performance of the following duties, or duties of a similar nature, under direct supervision.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • 1) Update, maintain and index engineering records and files.
  • 2) Diagnose performance and failure of operational equipment.
  • 3) Perform calculations and detailed engineering studies using scientific calculations and the computer system.
  • 4) Develop, test, modify and document computer programs.
  • 5) Conduct computer simulation studies.
  • 6) Prepare cost estimates.
  • 7) Prepare memoranda, reports and make presentations.
  • 8) Visit System and supplier facilities for inspections and tests.
  • 9) Become familiar with Company organization, departmental functional responsibilities, and group interrelationships.

What We're Looking For:

  • Completion of freshman year in a 4-year electrical engineering program that has been recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Other Requirements:

  • Physical demand level is Sedentary
  • Report directly to an engineering unit of the Service Corporation, operating Company office or generating plant, that is to supervise the assignment projects. Report administratively to AEPSC Personnel Department-Employment Section or other System group who received budgetary approval for hiring.
